Again I have failed you. For too long I have meant to add an entry full of the fascinating mundanitys of my life. But just keeps slipping mind. Not because nothing is happening or that I am too busy. Just keep forgetting what I wanted to say...
So things happening.... hmmm...
I have been riding the bike more lately. The winds have been striaght up awful. And I have had the unfortuante occurance of having the wind switch directions on me several days now. Meaning it's in my face both ways. Meaning that sucks. Nothing beats a tailwind and I have far to few of those on my commutes. There is a special feeling when you get that sweet tailwind pushing you. The effortlessness of going down the path as wind ushers you down the eslplande.
On my bike home earlier this week I actually ran into a dumbass guy at the bottom of the brooklyn bridge. I was headed home and and enjoying my well desrved cruising down the brooklyn side of the bridge. For those who don't know, at the bottom of the bridge the path splits in two. One path goes down some stair and onto the street. The other path, the path with the bike on it, narrows and there is a pedestrian side and a bike side. It's really narrow. So as I rocketed down the bridge to the narrowing I saw there was a guy, standing in the bike path, leaning against the fence with his elbow out smoking a cigarette. We was literally 1/2 into the path with his dumb ass lean. As I got closer I thought he would move as most people do when they see a rocket coming at them at 20+ miles an hour. But he just stood there as barreled closer. There were people on the pedestrian path so I couldn't go there so a braced myself and slammed into the guys shoulder. The thud it made was pretty intense and it smarted a little. I didn't stick around to see what happened to the guy. I imagine that he was pretty pissed off but he should not have been standing in the human rocket zone. The other side of that fence is the stairs down to the street and he would have been perfectly safe. Oh well. The sting of the hit stayed with more about 5 minutes. No harm done here.
Gunshow just finished another run of the improv make-m-ups at the Gene Frankel theater. It was a nice little run. Not a lot of people there but we don't really have an active website/mailing list these days so it's hard to get the yout' to come out in dem street. In good Gunshow news we're going back to the Providence Improv Festival in late June. We had such a good time there last year that they invited us back. Unfortunately Ryan is going to be in Mexico for that show so we're going to pick up Ashley's husband to play with us for the festival. It should be fun.
The school year is almost over here. I should probably sign up for a summer class. I have yet to take advantage of the schools generous class taking policy. One problem is that all the classes I want to take are at night and my nights are precious. secondly the way the school lists it's classes is shitty. I need a course book. An actual book to look through for classes. The online class list just isn't happening for me. It's wildly incomplete. You have to go to the specific departments website to see the class list and the specific dept web sites are not easy to find. Hooray for college.
I know I had more to say... We went to the Cherry Blossom Festival again this year. We learned our lesson. GO EARLY. When we went last year it was a nice time. Short line. This year we went late in the day and it was a madhouse. Insane lines, people everywhere. The flowers were still pretty but all the people were a turn off.
I need a new computer. What kind should I get? :p
