Jodi left for Puerto Rico yesterday morning. She's working an art fair out there through Saturday. Ace & I are flying out to meet her on Saturday to start a week of fun in the PR sun. But in the meantime Ace and I are on our own! This morning Ace woke up and demanded that we lie on the couch togther and watch sesame street. His specific demand "Daddy, lie on the couch and snuggle with Ace. I want to watch Sesame Street." It's insanely cute. Even more cute is watching Ace watch Dora the Explorer. Ace talks to the TV and answers in spanish when prompted by Dora. It's awesome.
This morning as Ace and I were getting ready for the day there was a super loud jet roar. Of course the NYC dweller immediately thinks 9/11. But after a minute I was like "Fleet Week" sure enough as we were leaving the house ROAR!!!! There go the Blue Angels flying in formation follwed by 2-3 HUGE cargo planes also flying in formation. It was pretty awesome. I got 4 more views of them as I was riding my bike to work, too. They flew over the Brooklyn Bridge as I was crossing it. I had to stop to watch. It was cool. Then the flew over the West Side Highway a couple of times. That shit brings out the 4th grade war buff in me.
