Yeah, It's okay. You missed my birthday but I am not angry about it. Its kind of what I've come to expect from you.
Last weekend we went to Coney Island with Jodi's folks and Ace. Man, that place is run down. It's got some great sea creatures and stuff but a lot of it is either closed or broken. No penguins. The seal and sea lion show was good. We learned alot about sea peservation and so on. Jodi's mom didn't like them telling her what she shouldn't eat because it's not sustainable fish stocks. "Who are they to tell me what to eat" she said. Uhhh... .wild life conservationists? People who study the effects of over fishing and ecosystems? I guess you're right we shouldn't listen to that at all. Instead we should all just go to Red Lobster more often and get popcorn shimp!!! BOTTOMLESS POPCORN SHRIMP! I think the highlights were definitely the Walrus which was very playful, The seals which were like magically gliding around and the otters who were totally cute. The jelly fish were cool too but kind of like "how many jellyfish can you look at before you're like "ok... more jellyfish... still don't want to get stung by one i guess. yeah... can we go?"
The boardwalk wasn't totally open yet but we strolled on it briefly after the aquarium. One funny thing that they do at the aquarium is try and take group pictures to sell you on your way out. Just like they do at amusement parks or ski resorts. The only difference is that when they take your picture you aren't infront of an amazing vista or funny picture . They just say "Hey let me take your picture" and the backdrop is the parking lot. Not REALLY a great souvenier. The boardwalk was nice. Jodi's dad got his crazy not a manhattan drink from a totally sleazy bar for only $8.... 8! Ace got to ride on some funny park rides.
Last night I performed at Ash Wednesday's "Super Power Hour." It's part of this varity show where the hosts invite 6 oftheir favorite performers to get up on stage and do a 20 min set. The thing being the performers don't know who they are performing with until they are all called up on stage. I was crazy anxious but I had what I consider to be a really good show. In fact the whole nights comedy was awesome. I don't think I had ever performed with 5 of the people on stage. I made a concerted effort to be on stage and to be involved and it worked out really well.
Afterwards I was stuck on the train for 2 hours. It was probably the most annoying train delay I have had since 9/11. They really wanted us to do soem crazy hoop jumping to get back into Brooklyn. I took a gamble that paid off and managed to get back to Brooklyn by 2am. I am pretty sure the people who changed trains got totally screwed.
What else... Jodi's getting into her new job. We have the car and it'd been great. This weekend I am going to be participating in a Halo2 LAN party that is supposedly being shot for inclusion for some extras DVD to be included in the Halo 3 Premium bundle or something. I will believe it when I see it.
I started thinking about doing a one man show called "People... I fucked up." which will be real stories of me fucking up my life. What do you think? Sounds painfully funny to me. I thought about doing a show on something else but I don't know if I could put it off. Too many zany characters and hard to believe yet true stories if you ask me. We'll see.
