Tonight I am going to see "White Boyz in the Hood". A night of stand-up comedy hosted by the fine people of Vibe Magazine. I don't have high hopes for the quality of the comedy. Of course I am pre-imagining the comedy to be all about either the KKK or about white guys growing up in black parts of town. Totally amazing gag possibilities! My worst nightmare is that its actually somekind of redneck joke night but I guess I'll find out!
Last night was my final night of improv class. It was a lot of fun. People are always so nice to me in those classes. They say nice things to me that go to my head. After class we went and played pool at a dive bar on 42nd & 9th. Alan Fessenden and I managed to be the worst pool partners ever. We lost every game by our own hand. Totally sad but we had fun in our losses.
Gotta go see the hilarity!
EDIT: Whiteboyz in the Hood was actually really fucking hilarious. I think I will probably be on TV because I was laughing so hard. My friend Ken said his jaw was aching from the enjoyment. It was really insanely filthy. Lots of jokes about sex and race and stuff. All the comedians did really well, too. Even the revolting enormous woman who was mean to the "Skinny Bitch" she singled out in the beginning of the show and continued to got back to for cruelty. "Ain't that right skinny bitch?! Oh look at her. She's all like 'who me?' YEAH SKINNY BITCH I'M TALKING TO YOU!" Then there was a guy who was all about "Black people talk about white people all the time. You always talking shit about white people. You know what they be saying? They say when we get wet in the rain we smell like a wet dog. AWW Hell no!" I have heard that before. Not the joke but that white people smell like a wet dog. Which or course is crazy talk but the 95% blak audience was like "Hell ya!" But one of my favorite moments of the night was this really fucking scary looking comedian who just said simply "You know when you punch someone with a mouth ful of gold teeth? They come right out. Just like regular teeth. Pow" Which just seemed so funny to me. Watch for me busting a gut on the TV sometime in the future.
