How the time passes so quickly. Everyday I think about blogging and then I get my classic "But where to start" self defeating behavior kicking in which ends up in inaction.
What I was going to write about last time as that I saw a really hilarious old black guy on the train. I was heading home from work kind of late and kind of zoning out. Somewhere around Chambers St stop this old black gets on my car. He was carrying one of those old heavy tape player/recorder deals. Circa 1978 high tech with a big handle. He proceeds to press play and out comes this super old school motown sappy love crooning music. He starts trying to engage people about the music. "This is the real music. Yeah." He starts singing until he makes eye contact with a younger black guy. Then he starts asking him if he is married. Then he started sharing his secret for staying married for so long. the secret is "Never sleep in the same room as your wife." Then he said "I know what you're thinking. If you don't sleep in the same bed you'll never have any sex. Bullshit. I have a bell that goes to her room and when I wanna fuck I just ring the bell. She comes right over and we fuck and then she goes to her own room. It's perfect" I had a hard time not laughing out loud. The best part was that he wasn't drunk or addled at all. Just a happy old dude. He claimed to be 76.
I just finished the book "Wolrd War Z" It's pretty damn good and I could totally see it as a mini-series on Sci-Fi or HBO or something. It's a fictional oral history of the first hand experiences of the survivors of the zombie plague. I thought it was pretty good. Very much like other personal anthologies. Lots of reallyl awful moments as most of humanity is killed and reanimated. But I can totally see the individual tales of terror, survival and recovery being a great watch. One problem I am having is that when I tell people about it I get a universal "uh... a book... about zombies... no thanks." People can be such lame-o's.
Okay so I just tried to post this with firefox and got This Error when I saved. This time I saved before publishing. Phew!
