But then we woke up the next day and the temp had broken. It rained cats and dogs with lightening thrown in for fun and stayed in the high 60s. The next day it was so foggy I couldn't see the ocean but it was weirdly warm. There were still people showing up to use the beach even though the sun was never visible in the sky. Ace and I ran around and played in the ocean. It was creepy not being able to see the house from the surf. Ace had a little tantrum and stormed back up to the house. About 1/2 back to the house I kind of freaked out because I couldn't see him or the house.
But today was the weirdest one yet. I woke up and it was lightly raining. We went for a nice walk on the foggy, rainy beach.
Again the fog was so dense that you couldn't see far at all. At times it was maybe 100 yards or less.
But we had the beach pretty much to ourselves so we were able to just run around and be goofy.
Since it seemed like it was going to stay shitty out we decided to go see the Simpsons movie to get out of the house. After the movie, which was pretty fucking funny, we came out to find that it was sunny, hot and muggy. We were like "Wha?!" Then we got back to the beach and it was totally awesome out. Ace and I went swimming for like 2 hours. Then as the day wore on a new set of scary clouds rolled in and it started raining gently again as we started grilling. then just when I was resigned to grilling in the rain it suddenly let up and then the sun came out with a rainbow. It was seriously crazy.
You know what else is crazy? Trying to find a frisbee here at the beach. This is the first year I can remember that there wasn't at least one frisbee flying disc at the house. When we were at Wal-Mart I asked and they said nope. Then I went to Toys R Us and they said "Its the end of the season so probably not." The Toys R Us looked like it was going out of business. Crapp all over the place. It wouldn't surprise me given that companys difficulties. Luckily I looked at the clearance stuff and found one of those ring frisbees and some other beach junk. Everything was super cheap.
A couple of days ago we went to go see the Borne Ultimatum. It was an ass-kick fest. Really fun. Although a couple of times I was like "what the fuck just happened?" Also the crazy flashback effect was kind of the cornball. If people really had flashbacks like that then everyone would be crazy. Ok, I have bad flashbacks but at least they aren't sepia toned. But as the 3rd in a trilogy "Borne" was awesome. I have less than high hopes for Rush Hour 3.
In other beach news I have continued my tradition of crab hunter extrordinare
Ace is a little scared of these guys but all we find are the tiny ones.
