Just got back from Marblehead, MA. I went up there for the 4th to chill with my mom, Joan, my aunt and uncle, brother and his girlfriend and or course Jodi and Ace. Because the 4th fell on a Friday businesses around the world rejoiced because they didn't need to give anyone en extra day off. Because of this I was forced to take Thursday off. Luckily since I had so much extra vacation time I was able to burn a day just for this sort thing. It was very relaxing. We went into the old fishing town part and checked out a local art fair. Mainly we hung around and ate too much. Here are some Pics of that weekend stuff.
The pictures of Team Fernandez @ The Providence Improv Festival are finally up. Keith takes the awesome-ist improv pics. Team Fernandez was officially dead at the end of the Project but we got one more shot at performing when we got into the PIF. It's the 3rd time I've been there. The other two times were with Gunshow. It's a great festival with really amazing shows. We only got do one show this year because the festival has grown so much. Too many shows going on. Everyone showed up on time and we all wore our matching Team Fernandez shirts. Everyone except Sarah. She had hers but left it at the room because she figured no one else would be wearing them. She was wrong. We all gave her a hard time about it. In fact when the host came down to ask if we wanted something special for the introduction Matt asked him to ask the audience if they could tell which member of the team cared the least about Team Fernandez. When he actually said that the audience was totally amped and ready to laugh. Sure enough when we came out the entire place broke out laughing about the fact that everyone had their shirts on except Sarah. She put on her game face and we went at it. We had a pretty awesome show. Probably one of the top three shows for TF. The real amazing thing is that we had like 35 mins to fill and that was about 15 more than we usually got at The Project. It was just a fun and loose show and I'd say we hit it out of the park. Afterwards people were super complimentary about the show. We stuck around for some other shows including the one we were teamed up with. That show was a retelling of the back story behind the duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. I admit I thought it would be weird but it was really fucking awesome. Even with the theater temperature at the mega smothering stage they kicked ass. It was great all around. Afterwards we partied a bit. I called it a night at 2am because I had to drive back to NYC bright and early. Ace's birthday party was on Sunday and Jodi was freaking out about it. I made good time back into the city and Ace's party rocked.
I recently re-discovered a radio station I haven't listened to since we moved to Brooklyn. It's Seton Hall Pirate Radio. I especially used to listen to it when I was working (or barely working) on movie sets. Well I found it on our clock radio and I set it as our morning wake up tunes. We used to have NPR on but I found we just lay in bed listening to the news instead of getting up. This morning we woke up to this song.
Fucking HILARIOUS song to wake up to. Jodi was like "You know what's sad? I recognize this song."
